Westbury Chairman’s XV 36 Clarkson Evans Legends XV 5
West entertained a youthful Clarkson Evans side featuring Westbury hooker Daniel Long and ex Spartans and Cinderford legend Nathan Evans on the bench
Winger Tom Gifford opened the scoring showing good pace to grab two early try’s
Playing with the wind and down the slope No8 Paul Adams crashed over following a power run
As the Clarkson boys tried to run out of defence Werner Aucamp intercepted to score an easy try .
It was good to see some new faces in Westbury shirts with Ben Yeates
Brian Williams and Grant Morris all doing well.
Next to score was skipper Paddy Hinds who was making a welcome return from injury.
It was great to see old faces back at the club withChristopher Harris Jones, Pete Webb , Edgie, Tom Gifford , Tom Smith, Aled Halford-Tuffley , Bri Morris and Pete Cuthbert all making good contributions.
The Clarkson boys were not giving in rolling out MD Nathan Evans and the visitors endeavour paid off as they scored a good try.
Another period of play seen a small scuffle breakout, there were accusations of a choke hold on a veteran hooker and an outrageous allegation of calling the same player Grandad !!
When all had calmed down Simon Roberts scored the last try, he then informed all that he was not yet a grandad, Tucky took the conversion and just missed.
A bloody good game played in great spirit and raising money for a Clarkson Evans Charity.
